Central Flight Training can offer Flight Instructor upgrade courses to remove all associated restrictions and extend instructional privileges. The duration of the course will normally be 5-weeks.
On completion of the course a ground and flight test will be carried out by a Flight Instructor Examiner. Other Flight Instructor courses offered by Fly EFG include Night Rating Instructor Course, Class Rating Instructor Course and Instrument Rating Instructor Course. We also offer the addition of night privileges to the FI Certificate and the Instrument Rating Instructor.
A major component of all flying instructor courses is ground school and Pooleys are proud to offer one of the UK’s finest training environments with computers, multi-media projectors and a large array of training aides and documentation.
What is a flight instructor course? How long does it take to become a flight instructor? To operate an aircraft to its limits, and to handle it confidently throughout its flight envelope.
The skills required to become an effective teacher, both on the ground and in the air. You must have successfully completed the FI course before you can be remunerated for providing instruction. Our Flight Instructor (FI) course typically takes between five to six weeks (full-time).
FI course training can take place at any of our Aeros bases, either full-time or part-time, and typically with a maximum of two students per FI Instructor. Pre-Course Requirements EASA-FCL 9FI and 9FI state pre-entry requirements to commence an approved course of training for the issue of an EASA-FCL FI (R) rating.
On satisfactory completion of the course, the applicant must pass an Instructor Skill Test with a Flight Instructor Examiner which will be arranged by the Club. All inquiries should be made via e-mail to the Chief Flying Instructor, Dave Biddles. Typical courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on flying time. Minimum requirements for flying times vary by country and institution.
The flight training includes hours of instruction of which hours is dual flight instruction. The Flight Instruction Course takes around 5-weeks (full-time) and includes both ground and flight training. The remaining hours may be mutual flying, that is two student instructors flying together to practice flight demonstrations. Following a pre-entry flight test, the training normally takes six weeks with favourable weather, and not more that two candidates per instructor can be on the same course.
The minimum requirement for the course is hours of flying, but up to five hours can be flown as mutual sorties with another candidate. How can I get my Flight Instructor – FI(A) rating? Step 1: Complete the theoretical training.
The theoretical training is an integral part of FI(A) rating course. It can be done concurrently with the flight training or used as a separate ground training course. To start an instructor course, you must hold a current Pilots License on Aeroplanes which must include a Microlight Class Rating.
You must have flown at least 1hrs PIC on Aeroplanes, at least of which must have been on Microlights and at least hrs PIC on the type (meaning flexwing or fixed wing) to be used on the course. The certificate can be added to a PPL or higher level of licence.
For the CFI certificate, there are two initial exams that you must take: The FOI (Fundamentals of Instruction) Exam and the FAA Certified Flight Instructor Knowledge Exam. FI refresher training for reissue of lapsed certificates and also part-time training for additional ratings is available on a limited basis.
The FOI covers topics related to teaching, such as the learning process, effective teaching elements, training techniques, etc. Course Description Flight Instruction comprises of hours of flight training of which hours will be dual instruction and hours will be mutual flying with another student instructor or qualified FI to practise flight demonstrations. You can fly the yearly instructional flight that PPL holders require and useful for checking out pilots to a new type within the class.
Flying Instructor (FI) - Initially restricted but allows you to instruct as above but you can now teach new PPL students. The courses are composed of different modules allowing qualification as a simulator instructor (Synthetic Flight Instructor - SFI or restricted TRI) to in-flight aircraft training (full Type-Rating Instructor - TRI).
Courses are adapted based on the applicants’ experience (Initial, Extension or Cross Instructor Qualification courses). A PPL FI holder can teach the LAPL syllabus, and if they have passed the CPL Theoretical Knowledge exams they can also teach the PPL syllabus. The EASA Flight Instructor Certificate (FI) allows the holder to teach students towards a PPL or LAPL for remuneration.
Flight Instructor Course Become a Flight Instructor with ACS Flight Training For pilots wishing to give ab-initio instruction they must qualify for an FI certificate. The FIC consists of hours of dual training. It covers the complete PPL syllabus and teaches the you how to instruct across the length and breadth of the PPL Course. There is also instruction in how to give Pre Flight Briefings and Long Briefings for the PPL Theory.
The flight based parts of the course will start by converting you to flying the aircraft from the passenger seat, the one that instructors sit in when teaching, and then you will fly all the flight exercises that you will teach to student pilots. There is a syllabus for the FI (R) course which can be purchased through the BMAA on-line shop.
Many of our graduates come to work for us after their training, and others come to work for us from all over the world because of how we teach, what we teach, and the aviation family we offer. Flight instruction is an incredibly awarding career.
Applicants must be able to finance their own training in the Cabri G2. A poll conducted by FTN has revealed that nearly half of the UK’s flight training schools are actively recruiting flight instructors, supporting the anecdotal evidence of an instructor shortage. Meantime, schools providing flight instructor training courses have reported a marked downturn in demand from potential instructors, some have seen virtually no new intakes in the last six months.
Flight Instructors Course (FIC) Redhill Aviation Flight Centre offers a complete range of Flight Instructor Courses from Flight Instructor (R) Certificate right through to FIC Instructor training including night, aerobatics, instrument and multi engine privileges.
